Fly-camp launches in Tanzania

Written by
Guests staying at Mwiba Lodge in Tanzania now have the option of fly-camping – a night spent under the skies, set up on the escarpment of the Rift Valley, overlooking Lake Eyasi.

Fly-camping combines two elements, namely luxury and camping, affording guests the opportunity to experience Africa in a secluded location.

Four fly-camp units are available and are set amongst a variety of locations, which vary depending on the time of the year and prevailing winds.

Guests arrive on foot or by 4x4 as the sun goes down, with dinner served on location. A guide will accompany and stay with guests for the duration of their experience. The 4x4 also remains on location.

Alternatively, guests may opt for a helicopter ride which flies them directly to their location.

Children under eight are not permitted and fly-camping must be booked in advance.
